Completed extended education study course and Familiarization (FAM) Trip to the Island of Barbados.

I was one of the first travel agents in North America to capture the top honor of Barbados Qualified Travel Consultant (QTC) in the Caribbean travel industry administered by the Barbados Tourism Authority.

The Barbados QTC program began in the Fall of 1998 and recognizes a select number of travel agents that have an in-depth knowledge of Barbados. The program consists of an extensive home study course and a three-day educational familiarization tour of the island nation.

Barbados is the eastern-most island of the Caribbean's Lesser Antilles and is known for is contrasting natural features including white sandy beaches, coral reefs, placid turquoise waters, wild surf, craggy northern coastline, and golden sugar cane fields. While visiting the island I went on a Safari (Jeep) trip around the island, went to a fantastic cultural dinner and show, took a 5 hour catamaran ride where we snorkeled with the turtles and beautiful fish, and went to a local fish fry.
